A rare invitation to an ancient event few ever will witness.

Calving season

5th of May - 20th of May

Every spring, the reindeer gather in a snow covered mountain valley to give birth. This is where we are, every day, to care for our animals during the most vulnerable and important time of the year.

Calving season is intens and demanding. To support the reindeer and ensure a safe calving period, we feed the herd daily and move calmly among them. The reindeer approach us voluntarily. They are not tame, but they know us, and they trust us.

For a very short window in May, we invite a small number of guests to take part in this daily work. To be close to the herd, to help feed them, and to witness new life beginning in the mountains.

This is real reindeer herding life, shared with care and respect.

Among the herd

You travel with us by snowmobile sled, seated on warm reindeer hides, into the mountains where the herd gathers during calving season.

Guests are invited to be present among the reindeer and take part in feeding alongside us.

There are no fences and no staging. We move slowly and attentively, always guided by the animals and the situation.

Being this close offers a rare understanding of the responsibility and care behind reindeer herding, and of the trust that makes these moments possible.

Good to know

This is an easy experience, with no special skills or physical demands.

We travel by sled and spend time outdoors at a calm pace, guided by the herd and the conditions.

Warm outer clothing can be borrowed if needed.

Photography is welcome, and guests are free to document their time with us, always with respect for the animals and the moment.

Exact location is shared after booking, out of respect for the animals and their safety.

By the fire

After the herd is fed, we gather around a fire and share what the land has given us. It might be reindeer, moose, or arctic char. Wild food, prepared the old Sámi way and eaten right here in the mountains, with the herd nearby.

Stories from reindeer herding life are shared, and joik is always part of the moment.

This is a rare and deeply personal experience, shared with care, responsibility, and respect for the animals and the land.
